Sam Guthrie, aka Cannonball, first joined Professor X's band of merry (x) men as a founder of the New Mutants (although he was duped into joining Donald Pierce's evil Hellfire Club mercenaries first). Sam went on to join many other X-teams, such as X-Force, X-Treme X-Men, the Hellions, the X-Corporation, and of course, the X-Men. In addition to Sam's mutant power of flight and energy shield, he may be an external mutant like Selene and Apocalypse.
I have depicted Cannonball in his first X-Men costume. The body is Spider-Man, and the head is movie Peter Parker. The 'x' belt buckles are from other Marvel figures, as are the belt and pouches.
