One of my favorite anime characters of all time, I give you the Guyver! I was definitely inspired by Sabretooth's Guyver custom, which if you have not seen yet, is 3 3/4 inches of pure awesomeness! As well as the fact that the actual figure costs close to $300, it was pretty good motivation to make one. I used an Edge deluxe figure from Mattel as the base. Lots of sculpting, I do mean lots of sculpting involved in this project. Used superfine milliput to form most of the armor, and aves for the smaller details. For the control metal, head orbs, and gravity orb I used steel bearings. The head is a fully original sculpt. I placed magnets in arms, blades and chest plates so that I could move/ remove the parts for different poses. The high frequency blades were made from some weapon fodder, and the open chest cavity was just some silicone painted with clear blue. After all the sculpting was done, I painted it up and sealed it! I did not sand most of the armor because I liked the rough, organic look it gave it. This is the most sculpting I have ever done on a custom, so any critique is welcome. I am very pleased with the outcome, however the chest does not light up, I had considered it but had already sculpted the upper body at this point, sooo I decided against adding lights. I am working on a blast effect for him and will post a picture once I have it done.
