This figure is based on Batman's new look from the Batman Incorporated comics. Yesterday I decided I needed the right tools if I wanted to pursue customizing as a hobby, and went to a model shop to get two-part epoxy putty (it was very expensive), modelling spatula, Tamiya primer and an X-acto knife. Using Miracon Bondite putty (a two-part epoxy putty), I molded elements such as all the utility belt pouches, the belt buckle (which I embossed using the belt buckle of another Batman figure) and the suit piping. The figure was repainted using the grey Tamiya primer. Yes, the primer is supposed to prepare a figure for painting, but the colour was so close to the Batman Incorporated Batsuit colour that I just used the primer to spray-paint the figure. The bat-symbol was made with a Batman sticker from a Lego set pasted onto an oval of the putty. I'm quite happy with the finished result, and the putty was so, so much easier to use than DAS air-drying clay. Last picture is my reference material, a picture by David Finch and the as-yet-unreleased Batman Incorporated action figure from DC Direct.
