At the start, it was a Raphael with a scratch build epoxy putty head (with a few cuts of plastic and the contents of some cheap headphones), some chopped up bits from a Megablocks mech, and silver/gold paint.
Then I just had the most fun ever remaking the front shell, sticking on wires and pistons (immobile) and reinterpreting the original colour scheme of the old Metalhead.
I'm from England and a massive geek for the special effects teams that made the old Dr.Who, Blakes 7 and Red Dwarf, and took a lot of inspiration from them.
