This was one of those customs that just kinda fall into your lap. Picked up the wolvie real cheap and a couple turtles too, after comparing the two I realised the sizes where pretty similar. It really puzzles me that although the turtles have been around for years we still only have one decent figure line (Neca), I mean all the rest have just been terrible IMO, and the price these things are fetching now meant my only option was to make my own. I'm planning on making the other turtles when I can track down the parts needed. After I finished the main project I thought it would be kinda fun to make a storyline of the day the ooze happened. This was also a good way to incorporate the slime aspect of the contest.
Normal turtle = Teeny tiny terrapin from Kinder surprise (I know it's not a turtle but, meh!!). Bit of dremmel work and paint.
middle turtle = McDs happy meal toy repainted (Think it was Raph but turtles are easily interchangable). Getting the detail out of this was horrible, mainly because there isn't any.
Base = Xmen Classics Wolverine
Shell = Playmates Mikey, cut to fit then sculpted in the gaps. Had to lenghten the front shell and retaining articulation was a pain. Sculpted whole body under the shell and round his sides.
forearms and shins/feet = Playmates Mikey, resculpted forearms to fit the wolvie tops, wooden dowel for joint pegs.
Belt = Playmates Leo.
Nunchucks = Scratch build using cigarette filters (smoking is bad!!), paper and an old chain with the inards of a twistie tie threaded through.
Knee/ elbowpads = Jakks WWE deluxe elbow pads
Skateboard = knock off tech deck, filed it down a lot to look like mikey has done some serious skating.
Painted with Games Workshop paints
The slime is called Swirly slime and I got it from a local gadget shop. Spent ages trying to track down regular green slime with no success.
