While watching michael jacksons speed demon music vid one day, I got the strange idea to make the spike character from it but at the time I had no more bases to work on and all I had was spare parts lying around, hands, feet e.T.C.And then I noticed a wooden man what they use for drawing, on my table and I was daring enough to use that, so I shortened the legs a little using a small saw and I used milliput on the head making the head large and stuck to screws in the top of the head and used putty around them for the ears. Next I took the wooden hands off and replaced them with action man hands. The hardest part was sewing the leather jacket together as it was awkward getting the size right, and I gave up for a while and put it aside for a few weeks as I thought that it would not work out, then I came back to it. The buckles I made from a plastic which I painted a metalic color. I sowed the trousers together and I left the wooden mans feet on and then used putty around the trousers to make up the top half of the boots then painted what needed to be painted. To my surprise the figure stood up on its own despite the weight of the head, but I decided to make a base for it which is two pieces of soft board put together with a piece of thin wood for the pole with the pictures on and I secured a metal piece which stands behind the figure which connects to the back part of the base. I have yet to make an mj figure to go with it but overall I am pleased with the results.

thats cool, I've often used artist manniquins to make figures, since often you can pick them up at pound stores or carboot sales for less money than an action figure. as a kid I often painted (or felt tip coloured) them up like spider man or voltron/power rangers charactors, (later in life I used clay to pad them) out
but yours is way, way better than any I've ever made.
