I started figure customizing back in early January, trying to make a Tron Legacy Kevin Flynn in a black robe with boots. With some of my leftover parts and other characters, I started work on a TRON version of my avatar, Boba Fettuccini. That was a bit tricky though, due to the nature of those Legacy figures, so in the meantime while learning to sculpt better, I began huntind down pieces to do an entire line-up of Boba action figures to accompany my webcomic. Sorta... pretending it's actually popular, and got merchandised. When I went into our local collector shop to check out the loose figure bins, I noticed a few Wolverine Origins figures and saw that the Logan w/ interchangable hands was wearing a button-down with rolled up sleeves, and boot cut jeans, much like I do fairly regularly. So I splurged, heat-n-pop'd it apart and painted the shirt my signature purple, and made the jeans a dark blue wash instead of dirthy gray. The helmet is from my Tron Boba, and it's just a repainted Jango Fett head. I replaced the boots with black combat boots from a vanilla GI Joe character, the shotgun is from a GI Joe Flint. In doing this figure, I learned lot about how figure types vary... despite the fact that Wolverine Origins figures appear to be built like GI Joes, dissassembling them is another story completely. I prefer their method of assembly more, but they're not as easy to get apart as Joes. Oh well.
