Points of Interest:
Rather than making an interchangeable head system using Canadian pennies/magnets (see the RL Jason custom), I went a different route. Using the Scar Predator head, I dremmeled out until there was only a mask and added 2 flat, square magnets facing out along the jaw. I made sure to make sure their polarity was correct, and matched those I put in the jaw-area of the dremmeled out predator head. I made sure the fit was perfect by doing the mask first/letting it dry - then doing the interior magnets. This way, the still uncured superglue let the magnets go where they wanted, ensuring a tight fit. A larger magnet was placed under the headcrest, which matched up to a trimmed Canadian penny in the mask's crest area. This is a technique I'm using in other Predator customs now. :)
Added a magnet to the shoulder/back and sculpted over it. Added another to the spine/lantern's end, and other to the hand. The Predator can carry it slung over his back, or in his hand.
I was really displeased with the sloppy factory paint apps, so I repainted the whole figure with Tamiya flat black & yellow, which has a slight glossiness to it. Their glossy colors (denoted by X-COLORNAME, rather than XF-COLORNAME, meaning flat) look amazing when dry, and I was really pleased with the Lemon Yellow I used.
Added a custom printed waterslide decal of the Yellow Lantern Symbol, and let that dry. Afterward, I added some blood effects near the trophy-shoulder, wristblades, and chest. The figure was sealed with Vallejo Glossy Varnish (armor), and Vallejo Matte Varnish (everything else). Ring Construct effects done with Gunmetal/Chrome Tamiya with a Clear yellow overcoat.
Before I finished, I decided to give him glowing yellow eyes: and I'm really glad I did - I took one look after painting them and muttered "Wow, that's... creepy." I hope you agree. :) Be sure to check out more pictures posted in the thread!
This guy was a blast to make, but sadly he's another request so he's destine for the outer rim. ;) Coming up within the next month will be Orange Lantern Leatherface and Indigo lantern Michael Myers. :)
