Bought this thommas combiner online, then decided to buy two so the limbs are symetrical. I thought ultramagnus as a train like the hearts of steel comic strip would be cool. I love steam punk transformers, "HOWEVER" I could not find my spare magnus head so I didn't paint the one from my mint in box 80s g1 magnus, that would be sacrilidge.
So....anyway what I did here swapped the right limb fittings with a spare left set then it was just painted darker blue, some details with plasticoat enamel gold and white, then removed the thommas faces and resculpted some plastic discs to fit, painted one of the disks dark blue. next I removed the robot head and made a fixture to hold magnus' head, used the existing train connectors for g1 cannons.
hope this inspires someone to do what I did only better, if I find my spare head and cannons ill redo this with bionicle parts for articulation but for now its on hold, criticism and pointers very welcome.....its how we grow.
