Citadel washes work well, too - particularly for black, and any of their browns. I haven't tried the Tamiya Smoke yet (although I have it... that's odd.), but will after your recommendation.
Tamiya clear colors are great, just make sure you dilute them ever so slightly with water, and work fast. They'll dry, and go pilly of you take your time. Also, for people who use the Tamiya colors with thinner, ensure your base coat has been dry for a day or so - or else you'll strip the metallic you're trying to color.

Not at all Sabretooth, I appreciate the feedback. I haven't really used Tamiya I hate waiting on stuff in the mail. But I may have to get over that. I have read a lot of great things about their clear colors as well. Thanks for the tip.

looks cool, the work you put into definitely shows! not to sound like a giant jerk but I think it needs just a lil teeny bit more done to it, have you tried tamiya acrylic "smoke" ? I did one a while back and I used some of that and a few other metallics to give it a more tonal range. try it out, that stuff is amazing!
