Here's a rather easy custom I started work on last Summer and have been forever tweaking, but I finally feel I've finished. He started out as the Toys R Us-exclusive DCUC All-Star reissue Green Lantern. He was supposed to be a "modern" version of Hal Jordan with a metallic finish. However, Mattel omitted several details and I wasn't really happy with the figure "as-is".
I decided to make a few changes and make him look more like the version from the animated film, "Green Lantern: First Flight." The first versions just featured simple repainting, but I was never happy with the tone of my metallic green paint. Finally, I swapped out the forearms for those on "Mosaic" John Stewart. I approximated the metallic green finish by mixing Tamiya's Gold Leaf and Testors' Clear Green. I used Testors Flat Black for the gloves and Flat White to reshape the chest logo.
