While cleaning up and reorgainizing some boxes, I found my bag of spare build-a figure parts, and found I had an almost complete second Gorilla Grodd "Collect & Connect" figure, just missing his left leg. So I started thinking what I could do with the figure, and thought of Solovar. While googling pics of solovar I found that he was a Black Lantern during the Blackest night (still haven't gotten to some of the anicillary trades on BN yet). I thought waht could be more "Battle Damaged" than a renimated corpse. Besides, even Jack Sparrow knows that undead monkeys are cool.
So I sculpted a new leg for him from scratch, added the scarring (which isn't 100% acurate as I had to do it from memory), and gave him a cloth cape. The jaw is sculpted as is the "Battle Damage" spear wound. I included a side-by-side in the second pic to show the image that inspired the figure with the finished figure.
Overall this figure was a lot of fun to do, and he looks great with the other black lanterns on the shelf.
