ROM the Spaceknight Custom Action Figure

This was made for our friend Mukami. He requested he look like some particular pictures from comic covers. I did my best. After a bunch of sanding to remove the wrinkles from his boots and to flatten his face and remove some parts of his chest, I did a butt load of sculpting. Seriously, he's about 90% sculpt from the waist up! :) I sculpted his armor and then went back and sanded it so it was symetrical and flat. His head was a pain to make just because of the shape, but I think it turned out the best of any detail I did. His jetpack is cut out of Sentra plastic with Apoxie Sculpt over it for depth. The hoses are from a Pyro's flame thrower. To paint him, I did a base coat of Ice Blue and then dry brushed Skull White over it. The reason he is white is because Mukami wanted him that way because in the comics he doesn't look silver anyway. And the original figure was a dull grey color. I like to think of him as a white knight anyway.

Oh I'm loving it. The white does look a little different, but I like it better than a silver/chrome look. Plus it does look very close to the comic color.
Awesome.

As I explained, Mukami wanted him white. Which makes sense to me. I'm pretty sure he wanted him to look just like he did in the comics.

I liked very much this character when i was a child, and your custom is great. But I think it would be better if you repaint it in silver colour. I know it was grey in comics but I think it was because they couldn´t get silver colour in paper so much years ago. I´ve always imagined ROM silvered.
Anyway great sculpting and shading job as always.
