Hey all,
So folowing the movie Captain America, I bring thee THOR! God of Thunder.
Not too difficult of a recipe--took a Doc Samson and cut/re-sculpted some of his hair, added beard and goatee. Next I cut some cloth and patterned, glued and painted it on his chest to match the blues and grays of his costume from the film. I sculpted some of the Norse designs on the armor on his chest, as well as the six circular grommet buttons. I painted them flat aluminum and painted his lower waist to bring the armor down to the belt.
On his arms, I coated them in a thin layer of Aves and rolled my sculpting tool over it, which gave it that texturized, mail-armour like look. Then I painted them flat black with an aluminum dry brush over that. I sculpted up his boots to be thicker, and sculpted the knee guards. I added thin straps cut from a Mr. Sinister cape to the back for the red strip they have. He has a dry brushed blue over the black pants which brings out depth in person.
His hammer came from my parts bin with a sculpted cap on top. The cape is cut and sealed cloth that has been dry sealed to hold that fold up at his shoulders-it isn't foolproof, but when the cape is posed behind him and hits the surface close, it helps 'pop' up the top part for the authentic Thor feel.
