Like 5 years ago there was this awesome art project over at a big transformers site called "Myth Wars". It took a bunch of transformers character and made them into mythological creatures. One guy named Billy Bad A$$ made a several especially awesome designs, 5 of which were doing the Dinobots as Gargoyles. I always wanted to make that, and I felt like my ability was finally up to it. He's non-transforming, but thats fine with me. His gargoyle mode really wasn't much different than his bot mode. He started life as an ML 9 hulk. Sculpted the head, added feet and hands from two different transformers, and then sculpted over pretty much the entire figure. You can't really see it in the pics, but he has a scaly texture over his entire body that i did by pushing athletic tape into it. The loin cloth thing is on a hinge, so it doesn't infringe on movement. The gargoyle head is a reworked abomination head, and the beast arms are gargan venom arms. His sword is built from styrene, and has a magnetic in the handle that attaches to a metal pin in the hands. Enjoy!

more pics in the thread, including the concept art i drew up after i couldn't find the original.

Neat art. Looks very beast-wars inspired. I like the larger head on yours over the under sized one in the ref. art.

This is pretty cool, it's easily one of my favourite transformer customs I've seen in awhile!

Looks really cool. You should post a link (or a [ img ] type embed to the fan art you mentioned. I'd love to see how you interpreted the source art.
