This one I took a lot of artistic licensing on, Because his origin story was he was a officer "JUDGE" on his home planet of Naktos "The irradiated wasteland known as The Cursed planet" gee I have heard this origin before hmm oh yeah its Judge Dredd's story just on another planet. and as the writer has admitted that it was a nod to my favorite Judge. I figured lets take the nod all the way and made him Judge Varix. SO I repainted a judge dredd yes I did the unthinkable and removed the helmet so I could paint Varix's face. Streamlined the costume here and there and here you have my Judge Varix

I always thought Dredd's iron willpower would make him a good, if not harsh, Lantern. Great job, and keep the Lanterns coming.

Actually so did I, and apparently so did Varix's creator Alan Moore. But to make a tribute character, and not be sued, he was not from a future earth but another planet, and he was blue skinned. the artist for the first issue also changed the costume which Alan agreed to but was disappointed as he wanted it to look more Dredd like. Alan fought for the helmet and said if you don't keep that you ruin what I am doing with this character. Varix was suppose to be GL Dredd with a more of a conscience, oh yeah and he was a hypochondriac cause so many people on his planet where disease ridden and his predecessor even died of disease. We now know it was the Sinestro Corp member and living plague Despotellis that was the cause of this
