Another custom character from my upcoming online Star Wars photonovel, "The Nul Dynasty".
Sometimes the simpler a custom job is, the better the figure turns out. This character was created as an impulse custom, after changing my mind on using an un-altered Tunnel Rat as one of the main characters in my photonovel. After staring at Tunnel Rat for a few hours, I realized that the body was great for a smuggler, but the head sucked. So after swapping the main head for an Obi-Wan Kenobi, I realized I would need to do a few more tweaks, and voila! Garik Bolan was born!
Recipe:
Main body, legs, arms - G.I. Joe Wal-Mart two pack Tunnel Rat.
Hands - random G.I. Joe.
Lower feet / boots cut from Wolverine Action figure and glued onto Tunnel Rat's legs.
Head - Star Wars Legacy Collection Obi-Wan Kenobi, with custom ball-joint modded onto base figure. Sorry Tunnel Rat, your head will never fit again...
Gear: Vest from G.I. Joe Wal-Mart two pack Monkey Wrench, gunbelt from random G.I. Joe...I think Snake Eyes. Holster cut from Cobra Alley-Viper...again guessing. Gun was custom made by: A) Jango Fett blaster for the handle B) Star Wars Rebel x-wing pilot blaster for the main gun body C) random scope from my fodder bin.
No painting was done here except as touch-up work. The whole figure took my a total of like 45 minutes to create, and really he works perfectly as a dashing, 80's style rogue smuggler intent on making his pockets a little fatter.
