Abaddon -King Of The Bottomless Pit Custom Action Figure

Custom #:3072
Name:Abaddon -King Of The Bottomless Pit
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Original
Date Added:June 28, 2007
Base Figure:ML Giantman, ML Blackheart, ML Onslaught parts and Scratchbuild
Height:20.00 inches
from Revelations/Apocalypse 9

"And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months.
And they had over them A king, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apollyon; in Latin Exterminans, One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter."

I stood at the lips of the Abyss and stared into its depths, and the Abyss stared back.
For it was a living thing that rose to meet me, towering some 50 feet over me.
There stood before me MIGHTY ABADDON - King of the bottomlees pit - a demon of miners, a demon of pitch tunnels, a demon of black raw iron ore and Coal
Its skin was cragged, solid, but uneven - as if hewn from living volcanic rock.
its sweat ran down these flesh fissures with a black, oozing, viscosity - giving off dark iridescence
It appeared to perpetually bleed crude oil

The army that fought it was struck by its huge forepaws - giant, Pangolin-like claws ran these heroes through - their outer bodies instantly disintegrating in clouds of black dust.
Bone, Muscle, Flesh and armor all fell away to leave their screaming souls impaled upon them.

Then its Maw opened to laugh at the carnage, a sound like a mocking cave-in was heard and its started to consume its prey - two rows of yellowing stalagmite-like teeth crunched down again and again on the soul feast of its claws and they burned forever in the furnace of its stomach...

Abaddon's stomach looked to be covered in boulder-like warts but all too soon I realised, that these were actually the petrified screams of the souls it had eaten.
A burning soul tried to burst from its stomach like a lava spout - only to rapidly cool on the oily mountainside - their expressions on their screaming faces were etched in sheer terror and torment frozen in place upon its gut - like heads on a trophy wall....

It cracked its bat-like wings and a sound like that of twin gigantic, rusting gates opening was heard.
And again it laughed...and it was the sound of an avalanche...

Lol a lot of carpet tape baking foil and toothpicks

Tyrant Claws, Onslaught hooves, Giantman parts and scratchbuilt horns and warty protrusions
Wings were taken casts from a demon statue...

you've inspired me with the tail for tounge, and for the idea to make semingly half eaten figures to toss about a battle scene
Unknown User - Tuesday, July 17, 2007
Ok ok - but I reiterate - the demon doesn't need bigger wings to be a demon - its a demon they could be anything
theres plenty of other demons in the contest that had disproportionate wings too - but NOTHING was said about them
It doesn't look like I'll be entering the Lantern one afterall unless I can get pics taken better in the next two weeks
Otherwise all I'll get are "ooooh pics are blurry"
And thanks for the love on my work Brother ferret - youre "un-traitored"
Unknown User - Monday, July 16, 2007
Thanks a lot andrew - I really love the professionalism and intricate details of your models - And its a huge compliment to me when you dig something I do
I'm looking forward to your connery Zed
and Thx1138 huh?
Must be one of those cool chrome faced cops youre gonna make?
Bob-A-Ferret - Monday, July 16, 2007
The ferret "traitor" slips in, "but I wasn't being a traitor just think the wings should have been bigger. Its not like I didn't think you did an awesome job bro. cause you did. Just I think it would be cooler with bigger wings. That said I told you over and over that you TMB and Greymonk where going to win this contest. And that it would be a tight call. As far as the overall fig it was awesome and the Spidey in the mouth was a great touch" the ferret scampers out of the room chattering and dodging wet Nerf balls being shot at him all the way down the hall. Runs in long enough to say "Congrats again" and runs even faster dragging all the Coke in the house with him.

Hey Paul- I thought you should have won the contest with this one. It looks fantastic- I didn't enter the demon contest because I have been working on my ZED figure, and it's finished now. I'm going to post pictures soon, but I'm having trouble deciding which four pictures to use. I think I need many more than four to really show it off. I hope things are going well for you, it's good to see you are still a busy customizer. After I take a break from my ZED project for a few eeks, I have another special figure I'm planning to do. Hint*... THX1138... Andrew--

Unknown User - Monday, July 9, 2007
I love your customs too bub - especially your starwars and ultimate hawkeye ones
you got skills to kill too, man
To answer your question - I can live with that thing in my haouse by surrounding it with customs of some of the greatest demon slayers in comics and movies
Ghostrider, Hellboy, Blade, Angel (Tv show), Spike & Buffy and they've got all my ML's as solid backup
they keep abaddon on check - the big bad person daren't put a hoof wrong
Big bearhug back at ya man
Aneses - Monday, July 9, 2007

I have to say your skill are unbelievable, make more customs and kick butt in these contests.
I can't believe this is actually a custom. Its more like a living creature from the pit of hell itself

Shinobitron - Sunday, July 1, 2007
I'm just glad to see Spider man paying for his sins of Spider Man 3
greymonk - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Well demons can take many forms but only an angel can kill one and Dedi...I love ya man but you're no angel!
Unknown User - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Exactly Medieval artists to modern masters have drawn demons with smallwr wingspans - but lets just not go there again please
Subject change
LOL the horns on the Tauntaun would be PERFECT! but please don't kill the 12" tauntaun -
I can cast the head!
Thanks for the comments man - and for sending that stuff for me to cast - I'll try my best
As for scary Abaddon
I'm ripping him apart shortly as my legless Giantman is inside of him (drunk bugger gets everywhere)
I'll put the hollow parts together again with some wire and abaddon will be more lightweight
carlos1 - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Plus you'll have to buy a bigger house to keep this one if it had bigger wings besides if you look at most depictions of dragons and demons even by masters in the field almost none of them posess physics acurate wings. I hope you keep this beast facing the wall when you put it away I would not want to eat or sleep in front of that thing. Excellent figure.
5 stars from me. Damm where did I put that Tautuan (SW) there you are come here! you are going to be customized into a Demon!
Unknown User - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Yeah Fair comment - but I can't remember "spazzing out" to Docs comments
he asked questions - I answered them - end of
we each had our own view points
I appreciate constructive criticism - but the "big wing thing" would take away from the main Demon body IMO
Big wings weren't required for the demon in terms of Story, creation or practicality
for example
I'm not great at taking photos cos of my sight....and if I was to make huge wings - and bear in mind the demon is 20" in height - the wings would have to be 3ft Wingspan at the very least to even be considered proportionate
To take a wide angle shot like that - you'd lose other details on the demon - especially since its painted black mostly - again practicality - a time thing and I'm color blind
I've got very little room as it is to stand this thing
luckily his limbs are bendbale so I can "fold" him up
I can make a pair of foldable demon wings but thats a lot of time - a lot of latex a lot of wire to make each flight finger jointed on one wing let alone two
it'd take me longer than a month to do
For reasons of Time and practicality - I chose a par of smaller wings - for taking shots, for balance for space reasons
I guess I shouldve used some photomanip trickery - which I'm adept at - to increase the wingspan
ANYWAY On to another topic of converstaion shall we?
Abaddons tail and musculature isnt the only things made from carpet tape
He's got an expandable gullet and his Jaw actually opens and shuts
I couldnt use latex for money and time reasons - so I used a rubber glove thumb for the throat area and
held the opening open with bendies/twist ties
wrapped and stuck it with carpet tape
The Jaw was hinged using wire wrapped again in carpet tape and sealed using bath sealant
Everything was painted with a mix of black arcylic and PVA white school glue
Horns gums teeth etc were sculpted with miliput scale detailing was using scrunched tin foil
Glad most of you like it - Thanks for the lovely comments AND the constructive crits
Spent a lot of time on this big bugger and feed him scraps under the table when the wifes not looking...
Good luck to everyone else thats entered a piece
greymonk - Sunday, July 1, 2007
What?! Dedi did this figure?! the hell you say!
fastfreddie - Sunday, July 1, 2007

CplHicks - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Really great job!!!!
I love the biblical referfance.
fastfreddie - Sunday, July 1, 2007
5 stars from me too, I'm just glad I didn't know deadeyesamurai did this awesome figure! but I knew when I read the story, I was going to love it...awesome job. I just don't want to be around when this beast is released from the abyss
geki69er - Sunday, July 1, 2007
I want to add as well that Dr. Nightmare is very supportive of everyones pieces as it seems to me. he has critiqued and praised my work personally. I just wanted to put that in cause I read my post again and it kinda sounded like I thought he didn't give compliments, sorry Nightmare. I know I'm gonna get crud for explaining myself but hey, I deal with that all the time, I do it.
geki69er - Sunday, July 1, 2007
I think that the use of the tape and tooth picks is genius, my hat is off to you. I really like everything on this demonic bad person. I really like the face. I think the whole conversation of the wings is hillarious. I think just as everyone is entitled to make whatever the heck they want, I think that people should be able to critique the pieces as well, cause honestly how are we to get better. I get choked when people don't say anything, think about that, if no payed attention to the peice, I would much rather have someone tell me what they think I could do to either improve or keep doing to my past, present, or future figures. I think that people spaz when Dr. Nightmare says anything is because a lot of us are very supportive of each other, which is amazing. But sometimes we need to hear things that can evolve our own skills or thought process of our creations. I think we need Nightmare to tell it like it is or else we all just are patronizing the work. But, all that aside, I gave this fiery bad person a good old 5, I love it and keep doin what your doing cause it rocks.
Gee_jays_Customs - Sunday, July 1, 2007
this is an awesome peice of work! I love it man! great usef parts as well as creativity! 5 stars from me also! ^_^

Hey Doc don't be like that man
Prolly cos you just posted what seemed to be crits, rather than saying something "positive" as well....and a deal about wingspan when theres no need to
You asked some questions, I answered then with some factual references is all - with factual refs
Birds fly without magic cos they have huge wingspans and hollow bones
This demon weighs a ton in the story cos hes made out of living rock
If the demon was real - YOU WOULD HAVE A VERY VALID POINT - you aint the first person to say the wings are a tad too small if that makes you feel better
But a demon doesn't need huge wings to fly was all I was saying
And this ones not got hollow bones - hes made out of living rock according to the backstory
So a "Flying living volcano" is pretty fantastic and no amount of wingspans going to be small enough to fit in the camera frame
cheer up Doc - Deadeye still loves ya
greymonk - Sunday, July 1, 2007
because you are an influential person in here Doc and your opinion matters a great deal sometimes. so you should probably mmmmmfthhhh (catches nerf vonage box in face...)
Dr Nightmare - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Geez, why does everyone take everything I say so seriously...
*throws foam at everyone, walks away*
Unknown User - Sunday, July 1, 2007
5 Stars as well
Aneses - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Great job on this and clever idea with the togue... It really scares, I wouldn´t like to meet it in a dark alley.
5 stars for you!!
LWes - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Wow! That is sick! Really neat...
Unknown User - Sunday, July 1, 2007
Cos wings look scarier?
Demons plays on peoples fears and manifest themselves usually in a frightening shape
Somethings over 50 foot tall and coming at you last thing youre going to say is "oooh wings are a bit small"
Hes got a scorpion tail?
Cos its reffered to in the bible
No other reason other than scorpion tails hurt, kill and are scary and evil looking
Bats wings are evil looking - bats are very small (usually) but they scare folks
Birds can fly I'm sure you know cos they have hollow bones
This demon is made from living rock
Cos hes a demon - no other esxplanation is necessary and no physica should be applied to something inherentally mystical
Read Robert E Howard, HP Lovecraft, August Derleth and see why things have vestigial wings if you're seriously that hung up about it
Dragons like demons can have smaller wings than their bulk can realistically carry - Why?
Cos according to some sources they can inflate themselves with hydrogen gas making themselves lighter and steer with their wings - to descend they breath out fire
The Documentary The LAST DRAGON (not the kungfu movie) and FLIGHT OF DRAGONS cartoon are two such sources
But Demons can have one wing and fly - demons can be an amorphic mass and Fly
Size of wings arent really that important - its DEmons - you can do ANYTHING with them
