This one was inspired by several issues of New Adventures of Superboy back in the Bronze Age of comics back in the 1980's when Krypto the Superdog assumed his secret identity as Clark Kent's dog Skip.

So, I took the Silver Age Krypto the Superdog figure from the Silver Age Superboy and Supergirl box set and used the boil and pop method to remove the Krypto head and collar/cape. Next, using the issues of New Adventures of Superboy that featured Krypto as Skip as reference, I pencil drew the shape of the two brown spots on his back. Once the spots were drawn properly, I painted them with some brown paint. While the brown paint dried, I clipped the cape off the collar and then used my Dremel to sand the excess of the cape off and leave just the dog collar. Next, I did a full repaint on the collar with red paint. Once that was dry, I glued the collar back onto the neck. As soon as the glue had dried, I again used the boil and pop method to reattach the Krypto head to the body. Lastly, I used my detail brush to paint the studs on the collar gold, and TA-DA...Krypto as Clark Kent's dog Skip!!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.

And here I thought I was crazy for my GL fixation DAAANNGGGGGG This is awesome. Unfortunately I am not a huge Supes fan as so much of his stories have been told before. the red and blue electric story for example happened n the 60's and though the new story had some interesting tidbits it has played before. I am HOPING the new reboot will fix all that and make me love the character again. Don't get me wrong while Superman Bores me I love the S family and certain aspects of the character. I just kind of agree with Batman his greatest triumph was death.

Now my comment to this exact fig and not your entire collection of creations LOL. I really like this it has decent articulation for a dog in this scale it looks like a normal dog and yet it could be Krypto. THe only thing I would suggest and this is cause I am a crazy mofo. Is in the collar ad some magnets and the make a magnetic S shield dog tag and magnetic attachable cape. then you would have the perfect Krypto toy in both his secret identity and his superpooch form. But really nice regardless.

Bob, I've already got the regular Krypto to go with the Krypto as Skip so I don't need to add the magnetic cape. And you are NOT a crazy mofo...you are a derainged and crazy mofo LOL. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks fastfreddie. I believe he did use the Skip identity in the animated series, but as you can see, mine is from the old 80's Superboy comic. I'm glad you liked it. I do try my best to make every figure look absolutely great, and I'm glad that this one came out as well as he did.
