Here I took a cast of the New Krypton Superman head and tried to stretch its use a little bit. I have done one Clark already from this head with sculpted hair and glasses. This one actually has a permanent hat. Painted from reference from stills from the first movie, Clark is in a suit with a vest here as well as his hat and glasses. The vest actually came from a J Jonah Jameson that I tossed out a LONG time ago but I alway kept the vest for some reason… 4 years later... BINGO.<<<<<HOARDING BONUS>>>>> The glasses themselves are made from hot glue. The process is a little bit of a task. You have to inject the hot glue directly into the eye sockets (OUCH!!!). Once the glue cools you can take an exacto and slice (in one motion) through the foremost surface to create a very realistic lens. The process is repeated for the other lens and then heated to give it a glare and remove any streaks from slicing. In the end it gives a nice effect. Once the lenses are trimmed to the horn-rimmed shape and the arms are sculpted as well I paint the very edge of the lenses and arms to create the final touch of these glasses. I've had some successes with this method but I know it can be improved upon. The jacket itself is made from scarecrow straightjacket for its beige/tan appearance and buckles to emulate a London Fog jacket. Here he is, The Man of Steel, checking out the latest headlines.
