Hello.I've never done a Spider-man custom before so I wanted to do something different.Deathshead Spider-man!
I started with a wal-mart spider-man movie figure.I removed the head and replaced it with a skull from a key chain, cut some plastic from a toy pipe to make the goggles, and the head was pretty much done.I then began to construct the cyborg spider legs backpack. For that I used an old Mr. Freeze robot spider legs thing.I really liked it because the legs are actually poseable.
Then I got the old dremmel out and sanded down the underside of the housing so it would fit onto the figure's back.Next I glued tubing and wires from a Matrix APU onto the figure and the back pack to make it look more mechanical.
I altered the costume with magic-sculpt to try to make it look more menacing, sort of like a variation on the Alex Ross costume.Painted the blue areas of the costume black and the red areas maroon for a darker look.
The spider legs can actually hold up the entire figure which is pretty cool.I'm not entirely satisfied with this guy yet so you can expect to see a version 2 soon.Though I did have a great time putting him together.I hope you guys like him. -customapprentice
