Custom #:34123
Name:Humanoid
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Mego
Creator:hussapocalypse
Date Added:November 6, 2011
Base Figure:Cobra Commander/Snake Eyes
Height:4.00 inches
The Humanoid was released in 1980 by Mego as part of the second wave of figures in The Black Hole line in support of the Walt Disney movie. However, it was only released in Canada and Italy at that time, and as such is considered to be one of the rarest mass produced action figures ever made.
The head came from a RAH Cobra Commander (the one w/a removable helmet). The body is from a movie Snake Eyes figure (arms were painted a different shade of black to match the cloak), "Attack in Paris," or something like that. The legs are from an older, 90s era version of Cobra Commander and had to be slightly modded to fit the newer Snake Eyes torso. The jacket is from (not 100% sure about this)a Star Wars episode 2 Shaak Ti figure, and the hood is from a vintage Robin Hood figure (an unintentionally hilarious looking sculpt of Morgan Freeman!) that was modified and airbrushed black. The real cloth of the hood was important to me to emulate the original figure (whose cloak and hood/boots were soft goods). The fur on the boots was swiped from the gloves of a Barbie Catwoman.
The vintage Humanoid action figure was more of a brown color, but my memories of the character(s) from the movie were that they were a dark shade of grey/black, so I decided to go with what satisfied my subconscious mind here. Hope you like it and thanks for looking.
