Ariel is the third figure in my Thundarr set and the character who received the biggest update, design wise. Ariel is a princess who is well versed in sorcery and ancient earth culture. She traded life in the palace for high adventure with Thundarr and Ookla. I wanted her outfit to be reminiscent of the original but updated a bit - the guys are happy to run around in the same old furs but Ariel is still a princess at heart.
I used an Infinite Crisis Power Girl as a base with bracers and hands from a Toynami Ariel. The hair is a combination of Power Girl and ML Electra with lots of Sculpty to tie it together.

I wanted Ariel to look strong and athletic enough to run around with physical specimens like Thundarr and Ookla, battling wizards and mutants on the dailey. I wanted to strike a balance between the exotic beauty she was born with and the strength she would develop from years of intense adventuring on a post apocalyptic Earth.
