Happy Holidays figure-lovers.
I never got a chance to buy the mattycollector set of Romat-Ru and Karu-Sil. Not to mention how expensive it is to get them on the secondary market.
Not to worry.
I took a DC Direct Tomar-Re figure (the one that came out in the early 2000's) and removed its head. I then had to 'exacto-knife' the neck off. Then dremel and sand the underside of the head so that it would sit perfectly on the DCUC Sinestro Corps neck. Once the hard part was over, I painted both the Tomar-Re head and the Maash hands. I tried to somewhat match the paint scheme of the mattycollector Romat-Ru, but then went crazy and added some reds to give him a bit of an exotic effect.
I love the way he came out. I'll take a crack at Karu-Sil one of these days.
Completed July 2011.

I finally got mine on the secondary market instead of making a custom. I managed to get him at a good price. Just took a look at mine and compared him to yours. You did a great job. I mean yours looks like it could have been made by DC also.
