alright, so Secret Santa project aside, I've been out of the game for quite some time. Lots of personal family stuff gone awry, plus a pretty lengthy hospital stay... just didn't have it in me to do anything. However, I'm getting a bit of the urge again, so I thought i'd start with something not terribly challenging... also I've sold so much of my fodder that I don't have much to work with.
Anyways, the Thor Legends Loki is one of my favorite new figures. All of its newly sculpted parts are really well done, and its of a costume I didn't expect to ever see done, which was a personal favorite of mine. However, the figures short comings are are fairly evident: those legs suck. I've seen some others solutions to it, Ray with repositioning them, and Lanshark with basically replacing the entire body. I don't have the ability to use Rays method, and didn't have the fodder to use Lans, so I went a different direction. I cut in swivels into the thighs, and made pegs out of some screws. I botched the left leg, leaving a pretty sizable gap between the pieces, but thankfully the straps cover it up pretty completely. Did a much better job on the right leg. I figured this was an alright solution since its basically the articulation set up that Hasbro is taking with the new ML figures. Anyways, after that I gave him a full repaint and thats that. Enjoy.
