I've been wanting a more classic Marvel Legends-style figure of The Punisher in his more current look and feel so I figured it was time to finally try my hand at customizing! Frank Castle here was made using a Marvel Legends Thomas Jane Movie Punisher figure, a Marvel Legends Series III Punisher figure,a Marvel Legends Face-Off Jigsaw figure, and a Legendary Comic Book Heroes Madman figure. Oh - and some paint touch-ups on the neck and shirt courtesy of Citadel and Model Master model paints!
The body is that of the Thomas Jane Punisher figure. I liked the overall look of the combat pants (as well as the built-in gun holster). The items adorning the waist belt are various ammo and clips culled from the jacket of the Thomas Jane Punisher figure. Hey, a man's gotta have ammo for all of those frickin' guns! The knife you see sticking out from behind him is in a horizontal knife sheath I culled from the Face-off Jigsaw figure. A little Super Glue and the belt was completely adorned!
The hands are from the Legendary Comic Book Heroes Madman figure, popped out at the wrist and then pegged into the wrists of the Punisher figure. Clean and seamless transition, seeing how they both had similar wrist configurations.
As you can see the knife comes out without a problem. The base/stand is from a Thomas Jane Punisher figure. I'd also like to note that I had to cut Thomas Jane's head and neck off with a Dremel and Super Glue a Marvel Legends Punisher figure's neck onto this body, mainly because they had different neck joints! Nice thing is the neck went in just fine with a little Dremel sanding and the head is fully movable! I should also note that even with the body additions the figure still has around 24 points of articulation. Not too shabby!
Throw in weapons from various Marvel Legends figures and voila! I may touch up the neck and shirt a little more but other than that he is good to go!
This is my first attempt at customizing so please be gentle! I read through a lot of tutorials and everything before giving this a go but I know only practice makes perfect!
