Base Figure:Silver Surfer

this is a fig that I had to work on for some time, the paint I used was rained on during the process and made me start over over 4 times. I was able to save it to a state I was happy with. I basically used the silver surfer body with a madman head. I used a car chrome spray paint for the paint on both the figure and board. I am working on a new version and hope it will turn out even better. thanks for the support.

thanks again, truly means a lot. I love the chrome look for a lot of my figs, just a bit hard to work with. unless the whole fig is going to be metallic.

Amazing man, the head looks a 1000X better than the ToyBiz version (I never liked that head) and that chrome paint is very shiny

This is the perfect silver tone for the surfer, great stuff!
Cosmic Fantasy Customs - Sunday, February 19, 2012
thanks bud, means a lot and I agree. I can only see the surfer as chrome, with an ability to reflect what is around him.

Brother, I did the same thing before..except no rain. I sprayed that chrome paint on it and it was really nice and smooth. I got the big head and said, I wonder what some gloss would do to this...and I suppose it is still drying somewhere in that figure graveyard in the sky...lol! It was a mess! I love yours and how it turned out

thanks bud, that means a lot and know and can feel your pain. I tried some of those same things, but learned that many metallics do not like sealant at all. it is like they become frosted sticky accessories. I know that some of my works will meet up with yours in that big graveyard in the sky. thanks again.

Very nice. You said it rained on your paints. Do you paint outside?
Cosmic Fantasy Customs - Friday, February 17, 2012
thanks, I sprayed the figure with the chrome car spray paint on days with no rain in sight. then it was a flash rain, so had to start over multiple times. and each time watched the weather after I stripped it down to fix the flaws and each time it did it again. and finally on the last time I painted it and caught it before the rain came again. it just seemed the weather had it out for him. but sealers and more minor sprays I have a vented room, but this spray is particularly harsh. all other paints are inside.

Excellent choice for the head, but the way you painted it makes it even better! Light years better than the original.
Cosmic Fantasy Customs - Friday, February 17, 2012
thanks I am not the biggest fan of the base figure's head. truly honored to hear that, means a lot.
