This is my second recent attempt at a 1989 Batman, Going more in depth with details this time around. I basically just sculpted everything from scratch upon a dremmeled down, stock Marvel legends body and various DCUC parts. Im much more happy with the way this turned out than my last.

I created an account here to warn others about Shadow Sculptor because I don't want anyone else to go through what I did.

I paid Travis Perry / Shadow Sculptor / Spidey2007 for a Keaton Batman figure after seeing his work on http://www.figurerealm.com and other forums. Before I paid him, he told me he already had a headsculpt, and the figure was 40% done. So, I paid for it in the first week of February. But, over a period of months, Shadow Sculptor gave me one excuse after another, but did not complete my figure.

Finally, I got fed up and asked for my money back. He refunded me most of it in May, and I received the last part of my money on 7th July (and I feel lucky to have received it back because I was worried he would keep it, when he didn't reply to my emails for nearly a month).

Just search Google for: "Travis Perry Batman Custom." The first thing you'll get is a SuperHeroHype forum discussion between people who have faced similar problems from him, titled: "Anyone pay for a custom from Spidey2007 / Travis Perry?"

No wonder he keeps changing profiles. I only wish I'd seen other people's feedback of him before I paid him. My advice is don't buy customs from him unless you're willing to wait for months, even years (as one of his customers commented).

Shadow, do you think you can take a crack at the new Spidey costume? Or do you only do DC? (don't worry, I'm not asking for you to make it for me, I'm just wondering if you can make it)

Id love to. My main focus is on DC, but I love Spidey. I tend to tackle classic batman stuff because it hasn't been made by toy companies yet. Though the new spider-man figures have disappointed me, so who knows haha. Thanks for the kind words all.

Amazing!!! A masterpiece!!!!! What type of clay do you sculpt with??
ShadowSculptor - Saturday, February 18, 2012
Thanks man! For these 6in figures I just use a combo of Aves and Kneadatite. Thats all ya really need when you figure out the right methods and time management with drying. For bigger pieces/statues I'm going to use Sculpey.

Holy crap, that face is perfect.
GeekSummit - Friday, February 17, 2012
Dude. These rock. How long does it take you to make each one?
ShadowSculptor - Saturday, February 18, 2012
thanks! The Time varies depending on the detail of the figure, this one took a few weeks, But I've done the 89 Batman in the past so its been easier. I'm looking to branch out into other Batmen incarnations and Statues.

This is incredible. The sculpting is incredibly sharp, it looks factory-made and better than anything Mattel will ever give us. Bravo!
