Since Mattel seems to be taking their time with the DCUC line as of late, I decided to complete my Doom Patrol trio ahead of schedule. Here we have the talented and always lovely Ms. Rita Farr, better known as Elasti-Girl! This version is based on the earliest series of stories created by Arnold Drake and brilliantly penciled by Bruno Premiani - if you haven't read these volumes yet, please do so, you won't be disappointed. I have always loved Rita as a super-heroine because she is as tough as the two men she is always on duty with. More often than not, Rita is there to save their keisters, not the other way around! She is strong, yet delicate; powerful as well as graceful. I created this custom to pay tribute to one of DC's greatest characters, belonging to one of their finest books: Doom Patrol!
Elasti-Girl started out as a DC Direct Saturn Girl figure.
Her hands were replaced with those of Robin's from DCD's Dark Knight Returns line.
She was completely re-painted using Montana Gold artist spray and Tamiya Acrylics. The wash was done with a mixture of Testors Model Masters Acryl clear and matte-black.
The base is courtesy of Arkham Cities Harley Quinn...
One of the coolest ladies you'll meet in all of comicdom, Elasti-Girl is the perfect complement to Cliff Steele (Robotman) and Larry Trainor (Negative Man). Now she can finally take her place on this pivotal team. Enjoy!
