What started as a custom project to pay homage to a comic great Jack Kirby, ended up not looking anything like his drawings of the Red Skull, but rather more like a custom figure of Bart Simpson growing up to be the Red Skull. It was amusing to look at, and showed just how powerful modern media is that it would sub-consciously overpower another artform and literally come out of our hands. Must've been all those "Simpsons" movie commercials that kept cluttering the tevo!
Found the skull, as a mini-flashlight, at a novelty store. Swapped heads with Kroenen, re-painted his SS duds, and placed two little beady red crystals for the eyes. They'd sparkle at different angles when viewing - a real eerie feel, glad to see it go.
Will try this custom again at a later date, and pay a proper homage to Mr. Kirby.
cheers guys!
