I dont expect anyone in the figure community to follow American politics or even know who Ron Paul is. I support him because he has never taken a money from corporate lobbyists so, he owes nobody special favors. He has a consistent voting record. He wants to end the wars both internationally (middle east especially) and domestic (drug war). And he wants to give the people more responsibility for themselves instead of relying on big government to hand everything to us. He's against the corporate bailouts.. etc... I could ramble on and on, but i wont bore anyone.

anyways the Harvey Dent figure reminded me an awful lot of Dr Paul, so I bought one, re-sculpted the face and hair. then painted the head and tie. easy.
I know his hair should be whiter, but it was not looking too good so i kept it gray.

I always figured Paul as lots of great ideas but not much common sense. He would make a great president for post-apocalyptic America, leading the country in the fight against radiation zombie Commies and invading mutant Canadians. Maybe you could mod that for your next Ron Paul Action Figure Series.

RP strikes me as a really "dumb smart guy". One of his ideas is that we withdraw all troops from overseas and bring them home, and let other countries police themselves. On the surface, it makes sense. On the other hand, there are times when we should intervene in sticky little wars to save lives. Interceding in Bosnia helped end the war, and Libya, and Haiti, and nailing Somalian pirates. So we should cut back a lot, but not completely. RP says we withdraw ALL troops. And as they say, "Extremist positions are always wrong." One example.

sounds fine and dandy to say were going to save the world, but you fail to realize the US has over 15 trillion dollars in debt. we can't afford to police the world.

I agree we can't police the world. But we CAN help our neighbors. And we need to maintain some type of military force. And since we're already paying soldiers, sailors, and marines, it's reasonable to lend a hand here and there. I agree it's insane that we maintain bases in 140 countries (with multiple bases in many). We could maintain fighting forces on six aircraft carriers and that would be plenty. But RP would have us retreat entirely within our borders. (Not sure if he'd eliminate our Navy.) And that was just one example anyway. RP is a libertarian, and I like many of his positions, but they're too radical too fast. And I'm a radical myself, so I hear you.

if only thats all we were doing.. so youd rather maintain the ridiculous money draining, hate insighting world empire, just for the little causes that might be good? obama or romney isnt suggesting what you suggest. if we pulled all the troops back, our citizens can still get their congress to talk about possible intervening. its not off the table. troops can be sent out when the people want us to intervene. we should go in get the job done and come home.

thanks for your input. read the article. too bad there isnt any evidence to back it up. What about his position on the Death penalty? prison industrial complex? drug war? all racially biased against minorities, yet hes the only candidate fighting against them.
