"At long last, my quest has come to an end."
Samurai Jack is still one of my favorite cartoon shows so I decided to make a custom figure of Jack. I know it's kinda hard to see him out of his 2D features but I wanted him to be able to share the realistic look with my other figures.
I had a SOTA Ryu lying around for a while, not knowing what to do with him for months, then it hit me. Why not a Samurai Jack custom? So first, I made the gi(handsewn- which took me hours...) to see if it feels right. It didn't but I continued with sanding the original hair/headband and sculpted the topknot hair. Now, we're getting somewhere. Luckily I still had Roronoa Zoro's swords that included an unsheathed sword and a sheathed one so that solved the unopening fists of the SOTA figures so I glued the unsheathed sword on his right fist and the sheathed one is there if he's not using the sword[see pics]. The sandals were made out of a popsicle stick that was conveniently the right size for Ryu's feet. The sandal straps were made of leatherette. The belt was made out of garter. Finally, i repainted the whole thing and here he is, Samurai Jack!
It's a very cool take on the character.
