Base Figure:Tomb Raider motorcycle diorama

I got a Tomb Raider motorcycle diorama for a decent price and thought it might make a good Crime Alley. So, I dirtied the whole thing up with some drybrushing, spray-painted the "graffiti", printed out several things to paste on the walls, stuck bits of plastic bag/newspaper on the floor and made psuedo-barb wire with twisty ties. I also made some six-inch scale roses and a black paper box to put them in. Each one of the posters has some significance, and so does the graffiti. Bonus points if you can tell me where the "missing" poster at the bottom is from (don't worry, it's not a real-life missing person notice)!

The roses are made of toothpicks and epoxy putty. The box was made from pieces cut out of plastic blister packaging, taped together, covered in newspaper and painted. Now Bruce and Alfred can pay their respects.

Excellent diorama, and great use of the Lara Croft base. I plan on purchasing it soon and doing the same thing. Thanks very much for the inspiration, as this is the best close-up of the base I have seen. I also applaud you for using the movie versions of the characters rather than the silly overly muscular/weirdly proportioned and unrealistic comic figures. In short, great job, and many thanks for posting!

Hi there, thanks so much for your really kind comment! I'm really glad to have inspired you and I'd love to see your take on the Crime Alley scene using the same base! Well, I love comic book figures, but I don't have a "Bruce Wayne in a suit" figure from the comics and so decided to go with the movie versions. Thanks once again!

Something I love on your diorama is that is not necessary any explanation to know immediately who they are, you watch them and think "Bruce and Alfred in that fatal alley" and something very interesting is that it transmits Bruce's sadness to the viewer... an excellent piece

Thank you very much, I'm glad the diorama had that effect and put the emotion across.

Isn't that a Haley's circus poster on the ground
JeddTheJedi - Friday, June 15, 2012
Yes it is, and there's another Haley's Circus poster on the wall notifying that the act has been cancelled.

Superb! Would've been cool if the "white-tape" was there, but it wasn't needed. Great job!

Many thanks! I was thinking about whether or not I should put in the chalk outline, but in most versions of the story that's been long gone. I don't think it would last long, especially considering how used the alley is. The chalk outline was in Arkham City, but I think it was more symbolic than anything else, and decided to save myself the trouble.

This is really superb work. Great attention to detail and most importantly, scale. Everything fits.

Thank you so much. I had a lot of fun with the easter eggs sneaked into the diorama, and I appreciate your comment about the scale. The base diorama was scaled to a 6 inch figure to start with, but once I started putting the figures in the scene it looked a little too small. Glad to hear it works!

Nothing like a great diorama to go with your figures. Excellent.

I've never been big on dioramas, but I'm glad you like this one and am happy with how it turned out.
