Disney's John Carter Custom Action Figure

Custom #:40097
Name:Disney's John Carter
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:DC Universe
Date Added:June 20, 2012
Base Figure:Kamandi
Height:6.00 inches
I bought this figure on sale for $3 with the intention of making him into my comic character Jackket Knightmare, but once I made the 12" version of him I wasn't sure what to do with the DC character, that was until I saw John Carter. :-)
First I sandpapered his hug eyebrows and his blue shorts so they wouldn't show. Next I recolored his eyes lips, brows then painted his hair in several shades of brown and finally I used a sharpened brown watercolor pencil to create his facial hair. Once his face and legs were done I cut and painted several pieces of maroon colored cloth, and the off white vinyl pieces for his clothing and gear. His arm bands are strips of suede fabric also painted then tied and sewn around his biceps. The bottom was also painted and then sewn around his lower half then another piece painted in a darker shade of brown was placed over that for a layered look. The top piece was cut from the vinyl and painted with detail for his breastplate. The sheath was also made out of vinyl painted then sewn and glued onto the back. The swords are from the Knight Witchblade figure and are interchangeable with the sheath. The small amulet is made from a Christmas ornament then painted and can be placed in his belt of held in his hand. The boots were detailed with beige paint and a little blue blood splatters throughout the figure. It was good to take a break from teh Bratz and get back to creating small figures. :-)

Fantastic! I think your custom looks a lot like the movie John Carter. You captured the look really well.. Great use of Kamandi, I know the head works great, it did for my Darkness

Thank you! Yeah it does work well on Darkness! I really like hair on the transformed Darkness figure. One of the realmers recomended it for making a custom Jackket Knightmare figure. Jackket is my comic character btw and working on publishing the fourth issue on him right now but would like to actually like to make a custom of him one day.
