This probably looks like a simple head swap, but it was a little more challenging than that. After I removed the original Spidey head which had a very crude swivel and no ball joint, I could have easily gone the route of cutting and glueing on the replacement head with its neck. But, I wanted to get more articulation so that Spidey could look up and down a little more for when he did his crawling poses. So, I dremeled in a slot and the inserted a shoulder ring from an old donor Spidey, cut it down to fit, then drilled holes through both sides of his neck to fit a "pin" through and allow the rotating movement. Unfortunately, my ideas for what I would use fell through. The hole in the middle of the joint was too big. I was getting upset with the idea that I wasted a perfectly good figure on this project. With a little more experimentation, I found a piece of hose that I cut from an old Mr. Freeze figure and inserted it through one side of the neck and out of the other. I then took a small screw that was smaller in diameter than the hose piece and screwed it straight into the hose, expanding it big enough to fit snugly. Now the joint works perfectly! Next on the agenda, cover the screw hole and replace all of the ball joints and any other pieces I can to help eliminate paint rub. I love the way it looks already so anything else will be minor touch up.

Thanks for looking!

Most excellent. I've always loved that figure misself and given the ever diminishing quality of todays action figures for no good reason other than companies being cheap, I'd say that you've taught a fine lesson in the value of salvaging what already had the potential for awesomeness from our past.
totally worth it.
