I had a Silver Surfer surfboard from the Pepsiman custom I did way back, and I wondered what to do with it. This custom pretty much came about as a result of that. It uses the Marvel U. Sentry 2-Pack Spidey body, and a GI Joe 25th Destro head (looked more intimidating the the MU Silver Surfer head I thought). The mace accessory was custom sculpted, the sword is from a Cobra Commander figure, and the board is modded with a handle actually screwed into the board using tiny machine screws. I tried to only glue it into place, but it kept breaking off, so the only choice was to bolt it on! The loincloth is cut from the robe of one of the Hasbro Indiana Jones villain's robes. His arm guards, shoulder guard, leg guards, mind control device and harness are all custom sculpted. Normally Surfer is depicted as really sleek and shiny, I wanted him to look a bit more battle worn...he's essentially a gladiator, right?
