Well, decided to put the Avengers 6" Iron Man under the knife. Did a full disassembly, then chromed everything, then lined everything, then got the right colors, then totally messed up my clean paint app and wound up giving a shot at a battle damaged paint app. Definitely turned out nice looking, even if he wasn't exactly what I had planned.

I had to basecoat in chrome. Used Tamiya metallic gold and metallic silver chromes.

I did end up looking at a lot of Hot Toys pics to get the effect of the battle damage right. I was pretty surprised it looked that good since I didn't actually ding up the figure at all.

Sometimes fate lends a guiding hand, in this case I think the battle damage makes the paints look even better. Excellent job as always.

Thanks! I think in the end it really worked out well. Still bummed I didn't quite get the clean job right, but it's not like there aren't always like 6 of these sitting on the shelf at a Walmart nearby.
