Hey all,
So...word on the street is that Rocksteady may have the Man of Steel make an appearance in the next Arkham City installment. True or not, I decided to run with that idea. I wanted a Superman that could be from that world, dark and gritty as it is. But Superman would be the light, the beacon of hope from a brighter, yet no less gritty Metropolis.
So, I sculpted onto the figure's sleeves and legs a bit of Aves to creat a more textured suit, similar in feel to the Arkham game's Batman's modernized tactical suit. It looks realistic and practical, yet maintains the classic look. The boots I kept clean and with a stylized split down the center. He is an alien, after all, so his suit, while practical, could get away with a more clean look as well.
Sculpted the 'S' logo in the upcoming Man of Steel movie style, as it looks great. The head is from a Marvel Select Alex Ross Captain America, unmasked, with sculpted hair. The head is perfect for two reasons: 1) scale is spot on. 2) the face looks like an actual real, mid-30's guy. The face has a seriousness, a depth, and he looks like a grown man. Funny note: the hair was sculpted up in a 'windswept' look, but apparently got heavy and drooped in the overnight drying process! Oh well, a stylist I am not!
Cape is cut cloth, sealed and wired for poseability!
