and here it is, the legendary soldier: The big boss
i bought a revolver ocelot figure (series 1 McFarlane) and i knew before hand that i just couldn't stand the face sculpt (probably because of the looks of ocelot in twin snakes) so i thought i could make another head for him trying to get the look from the twin snakes game, since i don't have too much experience in sculpting i thought that it was a little hard for me to do it, and then came the idea: use the figure as a base for the big boss.
is easily one of my favorite characters from all the metal gear/solid universe (probably because of all the prequels) and i have never seen a figure of him as and old man, so i based all of my work on the artwork for the 1998 game, Metal Gear Solid.
Ok so what i did with him was taking out ocelot's long hair, mustache, belt, the neck of his shirt, the tie, and the belt with bullets that goes on his chest, all of this with my dremel, then sculpted: the back of his hair, the beard, the eye patch, the neck of his shirt, the tie, made his suit longer and filled all the stuff where the belts used to be, all of this with epoxy.
i gave him a a new pistol and a cigar that's made from epoxy and a pin, so it can be detached from his hand, then painted him completely black and painted everything else, at first i was really worried about the coat, because i didn't knew if it will hold the paint, but it does, at last i added the buttons on his suit which are pin heads.
then i made the base, it's all wood, the words in the tombstone are made in low relief with dremel, and where taken from the ending of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. i covered the base with minced brick (it's that well written?) for the texture, then painted everything and added real moss and some rocks near the tombstone.
I'm really happy and proud of this figure, and i think it's my best work to date, hope you like him as much as me, any comment is appreciated, bye!
