Lex Luthor is well known as the criminal master mind who fights Superman, but what isn't well known is that he and Superman used to be friends, and yes Lex had a full head of red hair.
This figure is supposed to represent the young smallville scientist Alexander Luthor. As you may or may not know, Lex Luthor used to be a very good guy, he even once saved teenage Superman from Kryptonite! In gratitude for saving his life Superman built Lex a large laboratory. In this lab, Lex built many useful devices including his prized possession, an artificial life form. At this point Lex and Superman had become quite a team, and Lex began to work on a serum which would cure Superman of Kryptonite. Unfortunately this friendship was brought to an abrupt end, when a freak accident caused Luthor's laboratory to go up in flames. Superman quickly rushed to the rescue, but he was to late. Lex's life form had been destroyed, and his head had been burned so severely that he would be forever bald. Lex blamed Superman for the incident and they have been enemies ever since.
