Miranda Tate Custom Action Figure

Custom #:41189
Name:Miranda Tate
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Batman - Movie Style
Creator:JeddTheJedi
Date Added:July 25, 2012
Base Figure:NECA Twilight Victoria
Height:6.50 inches
This is a custom figure of Miranda Tate, the character played by Marion Cotillard in The Dark Knight Rises. Tate is a board member of Wayne Enterprises who is a philanthropist and is pushing for Bruce Wayne to put a clean energy fusion machine into action, and she and Wayne form a romance. Tate has a dark past which she initially keeps hidden from Wayne, and many people speculated as to the true nature of the Tate character - I won't discuss that here, please see the film if you haven't already. I was inspired by Xysma's own Miranda Tate custom figure, which features Tate in a different outfit.

The base was a Victoria figure from NECA's Twilight line which I had earlier used as a Poison Ivy figure, but re-purposed for this custom. I've tried to approximate the outfit as much as possible so it is not entirely accurate, but have included a photograph of Cotillard in character. I removed the hair and used the hair from a NECA Jonah Hex Lilah figure (trimmed). The jacket was extended with material from Hush's trench coat. The belts around her waist were from an X-Men movie Rogue and a POTC On Stranger Tides Angelica. I also made a Wayne Enterprises folder from plastic bubble packaging, a printout and paint.

I don't like how they wrote her, for all her loyalty to her father, she really loves batman and is really torn between the two. I also thought her father should have come back for this flick, using a pit and maybe have the resurection madness, but alas, not to be. anyway, love the custom, she looks good next baleman

Spoiler alerts are your friend - but really, anyone who's a regular on this site must have seen the film by now so I digress. Still - ***SPOILERS*** Well, I think the reveal was great - Nolan played a game of "maybe I will, maybe I won't", toying with the expectations of comic book fans as to whether Miranda Tate would indeed be revealed as Talia al Ghul. I wanted to see more of the "torn between father and lover" thing as seen in the comics and yes, my brother and I really wanted Liam Neeson to return proper. Thanks for the positive comments on the custom! Baleman is actually in a different scale, Miranda Tate is quite a bit bigger than him, so I had to force some perspective.

Thanks Chester! Yes, that's when the big moment happens. I was really pleased that Nolan and co went in that direction. Cotillard had come out to deny that they were doing it over and over again - by which point everyone knew it wasn't the case!
