This is my custom Hannibal King from the movie Blade Trinity played by Ryan Reynolds. In comics, King was an ordinary Private investigator until a vampire named Deacon Frost killed him and turned him into a vampire. He was a member of the Nightstalkers and fought alongside with Blade and Frank Drake. The movie version of Hannibal was not a PI, had been turned by a vampire named Danica Talos, and had been cured by a serum created for Blade in the first movie. Though this version had also been a vampire, he did not retain any superhuman abilities, and instead battled vampires using firearms and hand-to-hand combat.
Recipe:
Head: TNA Sonjay Dutt
Base: Mattel Jeff Hardy
Arms and Hands: ML gambit
Boots: ML Movie Punisher
Vest: Plan B toys Swat
Guns and Holsters: XMC Cyclops
Revolver: Neca Figure
Holster: ML Movie Punisher
Belt Buckle: Sota Birdie
The hair was fully sculpted and so was the beard. I modified Gambit's left hand for handling of a gun. In the movie he uses 2 belt buckles, one is a truck and second which I liked better was a bull's head. Though the buckle I used for King isn't a bull but a skull it still has those horns that I think is a better replacement from the original. I also added (painted) black ear pircings in his left ear and white on the other just like in the movie. I painted his pants dark blue and the boots a combination of dark brown, green and black. For his hair, I used two colors, base coat was cork brown and dry brush it with dark brown. His vest in the movie is simpler than the one that I used which I got from a Swat figure. It has pouches, walkie talkie and I added the silver spikes(nails?) that I taken out from ML Movie Blade. At the back I also painted the Bullseye mark that was also included from King's Vest.
There you have it. My custom movie version of Hannibal King.
By the way, this custom kinda reminds me a bit of Brad Pitt with a beard...but, then again, it also has an uncanny resemblance to Ryan Reynolds! Very COOL!
Excellent entry!
