i love skaar as a character and he deserved better than that figure hasbro did.

hes made entirely of a marvel select hulk. sanded off pant legs and cut in the toes, then sculpted boots, belt, wraps and armor on wrists, harness and sword, face and hair, skirt made from a scrap of surgical drape, then painted and sealed.

Truly epic, as the young'uns are fond of sayin' these days. The arm tattoos, I know it required some patience for them.

thanks. the tattoos were actually pretty easy, luckily I had just bought new brushes and had a crisp new one to use for them. I had to get them right because I was out of the lightest skin tone I mixed by the time I got to them. I had a harder time deciding on a color for the tats to make them look realistic. in the books they range from black to bright blue depending on the artist (and theres several distinct version of the patterns between the books).

Awesome huge Skaar! A lot of work went into this, great job

thanks man, much appreciated. hardest part was picking the details to do. as I started studying the reference I noticed that everyone draws him differently. the eyes, the tattoos, the sword and the outfit seem to change slightly in every new book he shows up in.

great work man!!! I know this took a lot!! You really nailed the pale green color of his skin~!
scarecrow studios - Tuesday, August 14, 2012
thanks freddie. it was a project. getting the long hair right while keeping the neck articulation was tough, the base is a bit of a hunchback.

the paint job is what stands out the most, to me. good job.
scarecrow studios - Tuesday, August 14, 2012
thanks, it was a crazy mix of colors it took to get that skin tone. greens, blues, greys and silvers of all shades. not sure if I could recreate it again if I had too.
