Hey all!

Thought that the Hasbro ASM movie figures left a lot to be desired (as usual) so thought I'd take one apart and try to make it a little more movie accurate. Spidey is strictly a re-paint but it took a while to take him all apart, sand down the joints and then give him just the right amount of of matt and gloss to get the spandex effect in the film. I like the eyes most of all. I experimented with different techniques to achieve a glass effect and was pretty pleased with the outcome overall.

Thanks for viewing!

Jaiman.

Wow dude amazing indeed! Can I ask how you made the paint on the blues and reds? It looks exactly like the movie!
Jaiman - Tuesday, December 11, 2012
Do you mean 'shine on the blues and reds'? It was just a simple coat of thinned gloss :0)

If you don't mind me asking, how did you create that amazing reflective effect on his goggles?
AMAZING!
Jaiman - Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Cheers dude! I used silver metallic acrylic, washed over with thinned gloss, then washed over with glazed thinned black then buffed for a nice shine.

Great custom, hey did you have to paint inside the web lines?
Jaiman - Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Hi man, thanks!. The web lines were creates with just a thinned down wash of black acrylic. I use specific acrylic thinner rather than water though as it helps retain the colour coverage.
