This is my 2nd figure and 2nd Scarlet Spider at that. Right after I finished the first one I realized the importance of starting with the right base figure. I liked how Mr. Fantastic is a lot more lanky and thin so it his body fits the bill a lot better. This time I also switched to Tamiya paints and it's a bit of a love/hate feeling as the finish comes out nicer (more flat) but it seems considerably weaker (chips more easily). I'm also still dealing with joint rub issues.

Mr. Fantastic Base
Shoulders were sanded down to get rid of the big-ball-joint look
Sculpted sweater and head
Lengthened his feet (originals were way too small)
Web cartridges are sculpted
Belt is made of bicycle inner tube for flexibility and to allow waist movement

Nice job. Yeah, the work on the shoulders does really help a lot. Paint rub is a constant thorn in my side 'cause I need my customs to be playable. It's a lot of work to get it right.

. I forgot to mention that I ground down the big ball shoulders that Mr Fantastic comes with. This greatly improves the proportions of the figure.

Try coating the joints in superglue (there is a tutorial somewhere on this site) and get a flat protective finish if you haven't already. The figure looks great!

Everything looks really well done on this. You should try the Joint rub Tutorial on this site. It'll explain exactly how to get rid of the joint rubbing.
