Base Figure:Playmates Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) Metalhead

I've always been a fan of Metalhead. While I wasn't a huge TMNT collector, my younger brother was and Metalhead was his first figure back in the day. My best memory of him was in TMNT: Turtles in Time on the SNES...wow, I'm really dating myself, here. Well, giving the Nick TMNT figures detailed/realistic paint jobs seems to be en vogue around these parts, so I thought I'd join in on the fun. The figure is a strait repaint of the Nick Metalhead figure. I really wanted Metalhead to have that worn, beat up strait out of the sewers look.

Really digging the paintjob on this guy - I like it more than Jin's version! (Although the washes/rust stains on his work well too). When I pick up this figure, I think I'll approach similar to how you did here. Nice job all around.

Wow, heckuva compliment! Though I have no shame in admitting Jin knocked it out of the park with the new arms and I liked his rust effects! I'm looking forward to seeing what other artists do with this figure!

That looks awesome! but how do you get wave 2 figures?
GDX - Thursday, October 11, 2012
Thanks! I found him at Wal-Mart. I wasn't even looking, and there he was. So you might want to check by your local Wal-Mart, because that's where others who have found him have been reporting finding him.

Beautiful paint apps!

Thanks for the compliment! It was pretty fun to do. The figure takes paint really well, and not much prep needed for joint rub!

Thanks for that, it means a lot. I've been working my butt off for the last year or so trying to get my metal look down, haha.
