Hi Realmers!
This one is purely for fun!
I present:
Ker-Mit the Heroic Musician!!!!
:)
Passing by a Kermit the Frog PEZ dispenser one day, I suddenly had the crazy idea of using it to create a MOTUC-style Kermit the Frog custom. I then saw Demo-Man's colors and thought he would be a near perfect fit as the base for Ker-Mit. This dude was a lot of fun to work on.
~Body - Mostly MOTUC Demo-Man with Mer-man hands (they look perfectly froggy). Sculpted around the wrists where shackles used to be. Added some green felt for his collar, which I had to paint. Printed some pics of Miss Piggy on water-slide decal paper and added them on as tattoos. The black-and-white pic is from LumpyGravy from devianART. Added additional detail to the tattoos using permanent markers. Even though Demo-Man's colors were just about perfect, I did have to paint certain parts of Ker-Mit to blend him well with the original paint job. Finished it off with a couple of coats of matte sealant.
~Head - 'Dremelled' off a PEZ dispenser. Added some apoxie underneath the head to conceal the area detached from the dispenser. I had to completed repaint it, including the eyes.
~Modified Banjo - Kit-bashed from some fodder pieces. The 'leaf' part is from some birthday cake ring ornament. The 'neck' is from some staff. Added 4 thin wires for the strings.
~Ax - Repainted ax from my fodder weapons bag. Not sure where it's from. I added a chain w/ hook from a Raven Spawn figure on his back to hold either the ax or banjo.
Completed 10/14/2012.
I hope you all enjoy him!
Keep pushing out all those amazing customs, Realmers! I love seeing all your works-of-art!
^_^
Thank you for looking!
:)
I just youtubed "The Rainbow Connection"...too funny and awesome! Now thaaaat's the song I think of as I see those pics of him on the log!
I enjoy mixing the MOTUC universe with other 'universes'. I believe the MOTUC universe is perfect for that based on its wide array of interesting, often zany, characters (Snout Spout, Clawful & Mantenna...to name a few).
An honor to hear from you.
Thanks for your feedback.
I'm glad you like the 'warped' banjo. I really wanted to give it an Eternian/otherworldly feel.
Great concept and awesome job!
That smile of his can creep you out sometimes.
An honor to hear from another Realmer whose works-of-arts always inspire me!
I think of Ker-Mit as a byproduct/mesh of the inspirations I've taken from fastfreddie(his beautiful paint apps), Xysma(mind-blowing, out-of-the-box concepts) and yourself(awesome, unforgettable MOTUC customs).
Thanks masters.
Thanks for your words, X.
