Well, following close on the heels of my movie Giant-Man, I also made this movie Wasp.

I gave her two heads so she could be played by either of these two Whedon-verse favorites. Also did removable wings from a Manga Spawn, and the rest of the details were sculpted on. Did some minor redesigns to make her fit in with the movie stuff, but overall went with something close to her modern & ultimate costumes.

SMG as Wasp, that will be really cool to watch, excellent custom and looks factory made, the idea of the suit very good too, congrats, kudos.

Thanks man! Was kinda worried the comic design would make it look like she was wearing a big leaf on her chest or look like she had just a huge gold bra. Took awhile to figure out the right design to make it seem insect like. Was sorta bizarre trying to think of what would or wouldn't work on a person, given that just about anything goes with the comic-based stuff I usually do.

I'm still rooting for Cap to get non-flush wings on his helmet someday though.

Too cool!

Really nice work, great details on the costume, just love the Sarah Michelle Gellar head. Fun.

Is that a Buffy head? She looks fantastic love the wings!!
raybot - Saturday, November 17, 2012
Yea, definitely a Buffy head. I think it's from a Tower Records exclusive Deluxe Buffy figure. She had like a jean jacket on or something, but I sure do miss those college days when I could walk into a Tower then walk out with a lot of toys.

You are SLAYING with these!! Love the concepts and design!!

Thanks man! Really fun getting back into doing some designs and the movie stuff's a really good inspiration and framework. Helps a lot that the Hasbro movie figures have pretty idealized bodies too. Imagine it'd be pretty hard to find base bodies that looked like real people and wouldn't turn out looking schlubby in proportion next to MLs.

no offense to shinobitron
but yours and his/hers are so alike and close
its your buffy heads that just top you over him (sorry shinobitron)
but its not a competition.....
I say raybots body, shinobitrons forearms/hands,raybots head (and rest of body sculpt) and shinobitrons wings
there you have a perfect wasp movie style

Thanks! Though it does suck when you're making a custom then somebody manages to beat you to the finishing touches. It is really cool to see what another guy would do when you're both basically working on the same project though. Definitely liked what Shinobitron did with his Ant Man and Wasp. Glad our takes were different enough that the things don't look identical. Hate to show up to the party wearing the same outfit.

lol indeed
though your wasps are similar your henry pyms are completely different, yours more casual his more full suit

Yea, I'm hoping to get a shot with a Black Widow I'm working on before these leave me. Though I do really like doing cool action shots when I get the time.

Really clean and really cool looking!

Hey Raybot! Long time viewer, first time poster. I LOVE your work.

I noticed you were going for a Fillion look on Giant Man... Were you by chance going for a Sarah Michelle Gellar look on this Wasp? That's what I first thought when seeing it and if that's true, GREAT CHOICE! I could totally see her being Wasp in the Avengers Whedon-verse.
raybot - Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Yea, I definitely went with Sarah Michelle Gellar on this one. She's sometimes a brunette and I think people usually associate her with her bleach blonde Buffy look. Did an Eliza Dushku head as well (not pictured here) but I think this one turned out better.

Looks really good. I like the Spawn wings. It's a nice change over mechanical looking wings, or the ML Wasp wings. Did you shorten the figure, at all? Otherwise, she's going to be at least a head taller than everyone else, lol.

Although, I really hope Eliza Dushku stays far away from the Avengers universe. I just really don't like her, don't think she'd really fit the more girly Janet. But, I guess we won't know who Wasp is, until the Antman movie!
raybot - Tuesday, November 13, 2012
It's a TDKMM Catwoman, so she's appropriately shorter than everyone.
JonMichael - Tuesday, November 13, 2012
Ok, I thought it was an AC Catwoman. You're such a great sculptor, I don't always know what's underneath.
raybot - Wednesday, November 14, 2012
Yea, honestly every time I see that Arkham City Catwoman used for a Scarjo Black Widow or anything I think to myself "AGH! She's going to be taller than Thor!" I never ran into one of em in person, but when I ordered one I was surprised how tall she was considering people are using her for 6" scale customs.

Definitely thought the Sarah Michelle Gellar head turned out better. Changed the pics to match, so just in case people think you sound crazy now, there was an Eliza Dushku alternate head
JonMichael - Wednesday, November 14, 2012
Gah! Now everyone is going to think I'm crazy...or, at the least, that I can't tell one slayer from the next. lol
NeCrollector - Tuesday, November 13, 2012
Absolutely beautiful! The Manga Spawn wings worked out perfectly!
raybot - Saturday, November 17, 2012
Thanks! Glad I kept the things in storage. Sold off 90% of my Spawn stuff but those Manga ones were nice enough to keep. Then rip up for this of course
