X-Force's Warpath Marvel Universe Custom Action Figure

Custom #:45354
Name:X-Force's Warpath Marvel Universe
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Universe
Date Added:December 18, 2012
Base Figure:Marvel Universe Colossus
Height:4.80 inches
Articulation:20 points

I scoured online stores for the X-Force variant of Warpath when he came out in the past and he was being sold for a very hefty price. Against my better judgement, i gave in and bought one. (sucker)

The Warpath from Hasbro was a bit small to my liking and I always liked the way he was portrayed as the "tank" in X-Force.

So I grabbed my only MU Colossus at the time and started to work on him. I took the original MU Warpath head repainted it because the mask and facial gesture was too soft for me. My initial attempt at the mask gave me a bit of a "Wonder Warpath" kinda feel, and we don't want that. Repaint!

Took apart the Colossus body filled up and sanded off, repeatedly, to get the desired shape. I took Colossus' bracers and attempted my FIRST, yes FIRST, sculpt ever. When I saw that the bracers came out pretty decent, I added pads to the hands. :) Whew.

AS for the paints, I used Flat and Gloss black on certain parts. I eased off on the silver pants because they gave me New Year-sy costume feel. (You know those body suits girls wear when they go to Times Square when the ball is about to drop?. nevermind)

Anyways, without further delay, here he is, my first crack at sculpting, with the rest of my X-Force customs. I have plans to do the rest of the team but will have to see which character interests me next.

Comments, as always, are a very welcome sight.

Enjoy and Glory to God! and have a meaningful Holiday Season and a blessed New Year.

oh man...this is awesome!
but how you make those line so straight & clean?? (especially on Xforce Archangel & venom) did you use a decall sticker or just paint it?? because it look so factory made..I need to learn it from you..
fireflamespit - Wednesday, December 19, 2012
Thanks for your kind words
You have to use a fine detailing brush and you have to be very patient if you have to rest after every centimeter of line uou paint, do so. Patience is key.
sibalung - Wednesday, December 19, 2012
yeah patient is the key....but the hardest part was to make a symmetrical between the lines on the right and on the left side..
fireflamespit - Thursday, December 20, 2012
I agree sibalung, symmetry is difficult to achieve but if you do the lines slow and steady, you stand a better chance at controlling the strokes.

Thanks Necro-dude

And Guys, by the way, that small green ball with a faint smiley sculpt is my wife's first attempt at sculpting. she's my bestfriend and my toughest critique. and if you see some girly doll accessories and diorama elements, those would be hers.

Now, this is Warpath! What Hasbro should had done! Dude you make now that all Warpaths from Hasbro look poor compared to this one, has the size that should had, if this is your first custom I don't want to imagine your next ones, cause this is a Masterpiece! Really, I love it, wish all my Hasbro Warpath were like this one
fireflamespit - Tuesday, December 18, 2012
Thanks Groo-dude. The size of the Hasbro Warpath was really the factor that pushed me to do this version. This is my first attempt into sculpting details into a custom, I've got 8 customs so far and my Venom, second sculpt job, is the really sculpt intensive one.
Thanks again Groo
