Custom #:45612
Name:The Green Ranger
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Power Rangers
Date Added:December 30, 2012
Base Figure:Extremis Iron Man
Height:6.00 inches
"Far in the future, the alien warlord known as Zedd has set his sights on Earth, and he brings with him an army of monsters. In order to protect the otherwise helpless world, an galactic agent named Zordon is sent to bestow upon the humans a power that will allow them to fight back. He choose five teenagers to become the Power Rangers! For years they have staved off Lord Zedd with their power suits and giant robots, known as Zords, but Zedd has just put a new card in play...

... Enter THE GREEN RANGER! Sick of defeat, Lord Zedd put his scientists to work on the creation of a dark mirror of the Power Rangers. Aiming to hurt the Rangers both physically and emotionally, he corrupted the mind of one of their own compatriots from Earth, a master martial artist named Thomas Oliver, choosing him to be his dark champion. As the Green Ranger, he wields unimaginable power, and the skill to use it. After proving himself unarmed in battle against four of the Power Rangers, Lord Zedd gifted upon him two blades: The Sword of Darkness, and The Dragon Dagger. While The Dragon Dagger allows him to control a zord of his own, The Dragon Zord, the Green Rangers true power lies within The Sword of Darkness. Unbelievably lethal, the blade is powerful enough to even slice through the armor of The Power Rangers.

Faced with such evil power, can The Power Rangers help turn their friend back to the side of good? Can they even survive? Find out, on next weeks episode!"

Well, now that that's out of the way, here's the actual description. I grew up in the '90s, so obviously I loved the power rangers, and like most everyone else, my favorite was Tommy. So for this, I wanted to do an update of him. Almost entirely sculpted over an Extremis Iron Man, and gave him Bucky hands so he could hold his weapons. Also did a hip mod to give him a bit more range of motion, but it wasn't worth the trouble. EIM has a weird assembly going on in there.

Anyways, did that, made him his weapons, painted him up, and here he is. Enjoy!

Is there any way I can order a sword of Darkness from you? Figure looks amazing by the way!

Hey man nice figure, but at least give ME credit for the original design. You did, in fact, use my design without permission.

What's the big deal. It's a custom. Besides you got the design from power rangers

This is based on that fanart of the green ranger in devinatart isn't it

Whiskeytango - Sunday, February 9, 2014
it was indeed! I didn't know it was on deviantart, a buddy had just shared the picture with me. I thought I had referenced that in my description, but apparently I had not, my bad.

They should in fact call ME, because I was the one who created the original design on my Deviant Art page.
Whiskeytango - Sunday, February 9, 2014
Definitely shouldn't call me, call the guy above this. Twas his design. I'd have credited him personally but I honestly didn't know who made the design. Someone had just shown me the design and I liked it.

The Watcher - Wednesday, January 2, 2013
That is the perfect base choice! Great update, looks AWESOME!
Whiskeytango - Tuesday, January 8, 2013
Thanks Watcher. Extremis actually could be a pretty nice base for a lot of stuff, if you were to sand down all its details and sculpt back up. It has a nice, slender build.
The Real Question - Tuesday, January 1, 2013
why am I not allowed to give this custom more stars?
Whiskeytango - Tuesday, January 8, 2013
Because the figure realm rulers are cruel gods! Thanks TRQ
mr. vader - Tuesday, January 1, 2013
while I'm not a fan of power rangers, this is a really sweet custom. my son who loves power rangers thinks it pretty sweet to.
Whiskeytango - Tuesday, January 8, 2013
Thanks Vader. You know, I turned on the original series on Netflix while I was making this guy to try to get inspiration... and that show is d@mn near unwatchable as an adult.
BDCdiesel - Tuesday, January 8, 2013
Even the Pink Ranger? She gets naked in a movie, ya know (not a Power Rangers movie, obviously). Awesome job whiskey! This one was one of my faves from this contest, and I didn't even know it was you.
